From 17.08. to 28.08.2021, rauminhalt_harald bichler will present two exhibitions in its gallery space. The first room features works by Werner Jakits, Manfred Hofer and Christina Jägersberger. Under the title "Attica" they will present works that deal with desire and the loss of freedom.
In the adjoining rooms, the artist and caricaturist Rudi Klein will present unter the title "Raubkunst" new works.

Gallery rauminhat_harald bichler presents new works by Werner Jakits, Manfred Hofer and Christina Jägersberger under the exhibition title ATTICA from 17.08. to 28.08.2021.
With the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, the concept and experience of being " locked up" has lost its abstractness for a large part of the world's population, and thus this term has advanced almost overnight to become a very real part of everyday life. The individual's perceptions as well as the general conditions of this state differ quite considerably and the feeling of discomfort caused by the personal loss of freedom and the everyday constrictions have already left their mark on many people. The exhibition "ATTICA", whose title refers to the "Attica Correctional Facility" - a high-security prison in New York State - reanimates this slowly fading feeling of deprivation of freedom through an installative setting that reminds one of a prison cell. This staged space will be filled by the artists with new works that explore longing and freedom.

Appropriating other people's ideas and passing them off as one's own is a quite common practice in the art world (artists like Josef Bauer can probably tell you a thing or two about it).One then speaks of inspiration or interpretation and hopes for the missing information of the buyers.

The more honest method is not just to steal the idea, but to pass off the work of art as one's own.  This kind of art robbery is especially successful in the case of works that do not identify an author. (Rudi Klein)

Die Galerie rauminhalt_harald bichler präsentiert vom 17.08. bis 28.08.2021 zwei Ausstellungen. Der erste Raum wird von Werner Jakits, Manfred Hofer und Christina Jägersberger bespielt. Unter dem Titel "Attica" zeigen sie Arbeiten, die sich mit Sehnsucht und dem Verlust von Freiheit befassen.
In den hinteren Räumlichkeiten präsentiert der Künstler und Karikaturist Rudi Klein unter dem Titel "Raubkunst" neue Arbeiten.

Die Galerie rauminhat_harald bichler präsentiert unter dem Ausstellungstitel ATTICA vom 17.08. bis 28.08.2021 neue Arbeiten von Werner Jakits, Manfred Hofer und Christina Jägersberger.
Mit dem Beginn der Corona-Pandemie haben der Begriff und die Erfahrungen des „Eingesperrtseins“ für einen Großteil der Weltbevölkerung ihre Abstraktheit verloren und somit ist dieser Terminus beinahe über Nacht zu einem sehr realen Teil des Alltags avanciert. Die Wahrnehmungen sowie die Rahmenbedingungen dieses Zustandes variieren individuell ganz erheblich und das Gefühl des Unwohlseins durch den persönlichen Freiheitsverlust und die alltäglichen Einengungen haben bei zahlreichen Menschen bereits Spuren hinterlassen. Die Ausstellung „ATTICA“, deren Titel auf die „Attica Correctional Facility“ - ein Hochsicherheitsgefängnis im Bundesstaat New York - anspielt, reanimiert dieses langsam verblassende Gefühl des Freiheitsentzuges durch ein installatives Setting, das an eine Gefängniszelle erinnert. Dieser inszenierte Raum wird von den Künstlern mit neuen Arbeiten gefüllt, die sich mit Sehnsucht und Freiheit auseinandersetzen.

Sich Ideen anderer anzueignen und die als eigene auszugeben ist eine durchaus häufige Praxis im Kunstbereich (Künstler wie Josef Bauer können da wohl ein Lied davon singen). Man spricht

dann von Inspiration oder Interpretation und hofft auf die fehlende Information der Käufer.

Die ehrlichere Methode ist es wohl nicht bloß die Idee zu stehlen, sondern gleich das Kunstwerk als eigenes auszugeben. Erleichtert wird diese Art von Raubkunst bei Arbeiten die keinen Urheber ausweisen.
