Simplicity or Presumption 2

Tom Sawyer and his best friend Huckleberry Finn are on Pirate Island, and they have also acquired a dog. He barks at the moon, while best friends sometimes seem to fly through the paintings headless and then again with a big hat. Others have grown oversized noses while the boys take a nap.

Sometimes the figurative is reduced to fragments of bodies or silhouettes that try to locate themselves in the brightly colored rooms. But it's not so easy; perspectives shift effortlessly in the image, both anchoring and permeating the figures.

It is not easy to determine what is foreground or background here. Around the corner, please.

The cuteness has escaped control. A male sketched with a few strokes reaches out with an oversized hand that seems to liquefy mysteriously. What could he have touched before?

Fantasy as an escape and a possibility. It is still about painting.

Einfalt oder Anmaßung 2

Tom Sawyer und sein bester Freund Huckleberry Finn auf der Pirateninsel, einen Hund haben sie sich auch zugelegt. Der bellt den Mond an, während beste Freunde manchmal kopflos und dann wieder mit einem großen Hut durch die Bilder zu fliegen scheinen. Anderen sind übergroße Nasen gewachsen während die Jungs ein Nickerchen halten.

Manchmal reduziert sich das Figurative auf Körperfragmente oder Silhouetten, die sich in den grellbunten Räumen zu verorten versuchen. Doch das ist gar nicht so einfach, die Perspektiven wechseln mühelos im Bild, verankern die Figuren und durchdringen sie.

​

Was hier Vorder- oder Hintergrund ist, das lässt sich nicht ohne weiteres festmachen. Um die Ecke bitte.

​

Das Niedliche hat sich der Kontrolle entzogen. Ein mit wenigen Strichen skizziertes Männchen reicht die übergroße Hand, die sich rätselhaft zu verflüssigen scheint. Was hat der wohl vorher angefasst?

​

Die Phantasie als Flucht und Möglichkeit. Es geht immer noch um Malerei.
